OUR GROWTH MINDSET PROGRAMS

Building Resilient Minds, Confident Learners, and Social-Emotional Wellbeing

Our programs are designed for children aged 5 to 10 years and create engaging opportunities for children to practise persistence, develop new skills, and approach learning challenges with a positive, flexible mindset.

Created by Julie Blackburn, The Growth Mindset Hub draws on her professional experience supporting children and families, alongside the growth mindset research of Dr Carol Dweck.

These resources translate evidence into clear, age-appropriate tools that can be used easily across classrooms, homes, and wellbeing settings.

BRING GROWTH MINDSET
TO LIFE, ONE TOOL AT A TIME

Alongside the programs, The Growth Mindset Hub offers original storybooks and practical resources featuring the Growth Mindset Gang, designed to help children connect with growth mindset ideas through familiar characters, language, and
everyday situations.

These resources provide consistent, developmentally appropriate tools that support learning across classrooms, homes, and wellbeing settings, helping children practise and strengthen key skills over time.

ABOUT

Julie Blackburn:

Hi, I’m Julie Blackburn, creator of The Growth Mindset Hub.

I hold a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology, and I was formerly endorsed as an Educational and Developmental Psychologist. I have extensive experience working as a primary school guidance counsellor and supporting children and families in private practice.

My work focuses on creating evidence-informed, child-friendly resources that support children’s confidence, resilience, and flexible thinking. My approach is grounded in growth mindset research, including the work of Dr Carol Dweck, and my professional experience supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.

Through this work, I saw firsthand how strongly mindset shapes the way children learn, approach challenges, and see themselves. These experiences led me to design programs, write storybooks, and create practical resources that make growth mindset ideas and concepts engaging, accessible, and meaningful for children.

My resources are designed for children aged 5 to 10 years (Prep to Year 4) and feature the Growth Mindset Gang (Frankie Fox, Benjamin Bear, Romi Rabbit, Sammy Squirrel and Remi Raccoon). Through these characters, children learn that:

A growth mindset helps our brain grow stronger

Mistakes help us learn and grow

Practise builds skills

Perseverance leads to success

Trying new things helps us feel brave

Thank you for being here. I hope these resources support you and the children in your life to embrace growth, celebrate effort, and enjoy the learning journey.

Katrina Fitzpatrick

Hi, I’m Katrina Fitzpatrick, an Inclusive Education Teacher and Program Consultant working alongside schools, students, and families.

I hold a Bachelor of Special Education and have over 15 years of experience working in inclusive education settings. My background includes classroom teaching across diverse learning profiles, as well as curriculum consultation and program development.

My work focuses on creating inclusive, accessible learning environments where all children feel supported, engaged, and able to succeed. My approach is grounded in inclusive education principles, evidence-informed practice, and strong collaboration with families and school teams.

As part of my work with The Growth Mindset Hub, I led the Australian Curriculum alignment for the Growth Mindset Class-in-a-Box! school program. This work ensures the resources meet curriculum requirements, remain accessible for diverse learners, and provide teachers with clear, practical classroom application.

This role draws on my experience as both a classroom teacher and curriculum specialist, with a strong focus on equity, clarity, and real-world usability.

I hope the Growth Mindset Class-in-a-Box! school program supports your students to feel confident, capable, and encouraged as they learn and grow.
