OUR GROWTH MINDSET PROGRAMS

Building Resilient Minds, Confident Learners, and Social-Emotional Wellbeing

Our programs empower children aged 5 to 10 years to grow with confidence, resilience, and emotional strength, nurturing a positive mindset and love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

These programs have been created by Julie Blackburn, a former Educational and Developmental Psychologist, currently registered with AHPRA as a Non-Practising Psychologist. They are inspired by Julie’s own former clinical practice and Dr Carol Dweck’s growth mindset research.

ABOUT

Julie Blackburn: Former Educational & Developmental Psychologist, Author & Creator of The Growth Mindset Hub

Hi, I’m Julie Blackburn, creator of The Growth Mindset Hub.

I am a former Educational and Developmental Psychologist, now registered with AHPRA as a Non-Practising Psychologist. I create evidence-informed resources that build children’s confidence, resilience, and flexible thinking, inspired by Dr Carol Dweck’s growth mindset research and my work as a primary school guidance counsellor and in private practice.

These experiences showed me how strongly mindset shapes the way children learn and see themselves. They led me to design programs, write storybooks and create resources that make growth mindset ideas practical, joyful, and easy for children to understand.

Through my books, games, journals, and programs, children aged 5 to 10 meet the Growth Mindset Gang: Frankie Fox, Benjamin Bear, Romi Rabbit, Sammy Squirrel, and Remi Raccoon. Together, they teach that mistakes help us learn, practise builds skill, perseverance leads to success, and trying new things helps us feel brave.

Thank you for being here. I hope these resources support you and the children in your life to embrace growth, celebrate effort, and enjoy the learning journey.

Katrina Fitzpatrick: Inclusive Education Teacher, Curriculum Alignment Specialist & Program Consultant

Hi, I’m Katrina Fitzpatrick, an Inclusive Education Teacher with a Bachelor of Special Education and over 15 years of experience.

I have worked closely with students, families, and schools to create learning environments where all children feel supported, engaged, and valued.

My passion is helping every student thrive by recognising their strengths, understanding their needs, and ensuring they can access learning in meaningful ways. I also aim to empower families to feel informed and included in their child’s educational journey.

As part of my professional work, I led the Australian Curriculum alignment for the Growth Mindset school program, ensuring the resources are engaging, accessible, and meet national standards. This drew on my experience as both a classroom teacher and curriculum consultant.

I hope the Growth Mindset program helps your students feel confident, capable, and encouraged as they learn and grow.
